A Mug of Cocoa Masquerading as a Health Drink?

Nutrition news flash! New research proves you don't have to be wracked with guilt the next time you curl up with that mug of steaming hot cocoa. Researchers have found that a 2 tablespoon serving of cocoa powder is actually packed with much higher levels of health-promoting antioxidant compounds than a 4 1/2 ounce serving of either red wine or green tea! Who knew? But, wouldn't ya know it, there's a down side. Most cocoa mixes are swimming in sugar, packing in as much as 8 teaspoons of sugar in a serving. But, there's also a solution. You can make it yourself with cocoa powder and low-fat milk, and minimize the sugar content. Or you can try adding stevia, a calorie-free, natural herbal sweetener. Never heard of it? You can read more about it in The Dish on Eating Healthy and Being Fabulous!
